Coming out next month (late May) is my Fantasy on 'Fumeux Fume par fumée' after Jean Solage (1350-1403). The original Fumeux Fume par fumée is a product of the Ars Subtillior school in France, the so-called avant-garde of the 14th century. My broadly two-part fantasy consists of a preamble of my own making, Solage's antiphon as a centerpiece, and a return to the preamble, so the first part of the work follows ABA form. Following that are rhapsodic variations on the antiphone culminating in a return to material used in the preamble.
